MOVEMENTS has reached its initial target of €300,000 in its pre-seed round and is opening an extension tranche up to €350,000 to bring in strategic investors before the final closure.
This milestone follows the early support of some of Spain’s most renowned business angels in the startup ecosystem. They include Miguel Vicente (Antai, Wallapop, Glovo), Vincent Rosso (Consentio, BlaBlaCar), David Tomás (Cyberclick), Marta Huidobro (AEBAN), and Ignacio Carnero (Libelium, Ontruck).
Joining this group are now social entrepreneurs with a proven track record, such as Sergi Figueres, cofounder and CEO of Worldcoo (acquired by Glovo) and Diego Hidalgo, founder of Amovens and one of Europe’s most influential voices on the impact of technology on society.
The fastest-growing platform for citizen empowerment
Since its launch, MOVEMENTS has experienced exceptional growth, with monthly increases that reflect unusually strong traction even in the startup ecosystem: 940% in December 2025, 127% in January 2026, and 3,184% in February. This trajectory positions the platform as one of Europe’s most rapidly expanding projects at this stage.
“We’re seeing something uncommon: people who don’t just support causes, but want to build them and sustain them over time. That completely changes the rules of the game,” explains Francisco Polo, founder of MOVEMENTS.
Movements with real impact in just a few weeks
In mere weeks, MOVEMENTS has already propelled initiatives with tangible impact on the public, media, and institutional agenda, demonstrating its ability to turn citizen mobilization into real change.
The most emblematic case is Safe Public Health, which yesterday became the platform’s first movement to reach the Congress of Deputies, where more than 100,000 signatures were submitted in defense of patient safety. The event drew the country’s leading media outlets, with coverage from TVE, Antena 3, Telecinco, LaSexta, and major news agencies, consolidating the initiative as the largest recent citizen mobilization in this arena after hitting 100,000 signatures in just five weeks. Led by physician Tamara Contreras, this movement has managed to place the debate about the conditions of the healthcare system at the center of the political agenda.
Also notable is Generation Zero Nukes, led by Nobel Peace Prize laureate Carlos Umaña, which has helped reignite the public discussion about Spain’s position on nuclear weapons. Broad coverage in outlets such as LaSexta, El País, RNE, and Canal 24h is driving a national conversation at one of humankind’s most critical moments due to the conflict in the Middle East.
More recently, Signs That Change the World, led by deaf activist Marcos Lechet, has begun generating social mobilization around the implementation of sign language legislation. In Spain it has been shared by influential Deaf community profiles such as Nora (@nagorericol), a 10-year-old with tens of thousands of Instagram followers who teaches sign language, and Noemí García, a content creator who is a leading figure in sign-language education. Although a nationwide initiative, it is already gaining international support from countries such as the United States, Argentina, and Costa Rica.
Next steps: monetization, AI, and international expansion
Following this initial funding milestone, MOVEMENTS enters a new phase focused on solidifying its product and scaling its model.
In April, the company will complete its MVP with the launch of a subscription system, enabling movements to generate recurring revenue and ensure long-term sustainability.
Simultaneously, MOVEMENTS will begin preparing its Seed round, planned for June 2026. It does so with two ambitious goals: the development of an agentic AI system to optimize the creation and management of movements, and its international expansion, with a particular emphasis on the United States as the priority market.
This next step aims to establish MOVEMENTS as a global infrastructure for movement-building, capable of combining technology, funding, and influence within a single ecosystem. “Our goal isn’t just to grow; it’s to redefine how power is built in society. And that means giving anyone the tools to start, scale, and sustain their cause on a global scale,” Polo concludes.
