Meet the Finalists of the First AI Project Competition for Small Businesses

May 6, 2026

After weeks of analysis and study, the MuyPymes editorial team has decided who the eight finalists are for the “First Best AI Project for SMEs Contest,” which we launched a few months ago. The decision was extremely difficult, as we received many interesting and innovative projects that use Artificial Intelligence to make it truly useful for small and medium-sized businesses.

More than 50 startups developing AI tools for SMEs participated in this first contest from our publication, and we can confidently say that all of them are already marketing substantial solutions that will undoubtedly boost the digitalization of the smallest businesses. The most prolific sectors in this competition have been Retail/ecommerce, followed by HR, education, and logistics; these last three are tied at roughly 22% of the projects.

This initiative also helped us learn that 67% of the participating startups use generative AI in their tools, followed by Natural Language Processing (NLP) (14.3%) and Computer Vision (8.6%).

Remember that these eight startups will participate in an ebook where they can tell us about their projects, which we will disseminate throughout the MuyPymes ecosystem and, in addition, they will receive a VIP pass to present at Startup Olé Salamanca 2026 and a strategic guidance session on public funding, courtesy of F4Startups. After the summer, a panel of industry experts will choose the winning project.

Finalist Startups

  1. Laguun (Cybersecurity). Generative Conversational AI platform that transforms cybersecurity management, acting as a “Virtual CISO” to democratize advanced protection, making it accessible to any SME with limited resources. The project began in fall 2019 as a spin-off from the University of Jaén, named Xauen, and became an independent company in January 2026 under the leadership of CEO Angela Escobar Mimbrera, a young PhD candidate in information and communication technologies.
  2. AI4Logic (Education (Edtech), Retail/E-commerce, Human Resources (HR Tech)). At AI4Logic they drive the “New Logic” for entrepreneurs: AI agents that not only analyze data but also act as part of the SME’s team, automating tasks and delivering real results. Among these tools is AI4Assistant, a virtual assistant embedded on the client’s website that learns about the business, converses in multiple languages, and converts visits into opportunities: it automatically captures leads, serves customers 24/7, accelerates sales closure, and optimizes processes without human effort.
  3. Brief (Marketing and Advertising). Brief is your AI project manager that never sleeps. It knows your entire workspace — every client, every campaign, every deadline — and works while you’re offline. It notifies you what has been pending for days, drafts follow-ups for unresponsive clients, and answers questions such as “what’s pending this week?” in seconds. It’s not a generic chatbot; it speaks only about your agency, your work, and your clients.
  4. SynTok (Retail/E-commerce, Marketing and Advertising, Entertainment/Media, Other). SynTok is a SaaS platform that allows businesses, marketing agencies, and creators to generate high-quality visual content autonomously from current news, RSS feeds, and brand assets. Users deploy AI agents that monitor news sources, extract the most relevant stories, and automatically generate visual content in customized artistic styles: pop art, anime, art nouveau, editorial cartoons, among others. Each agent produces cinematic videos with narration, dialogue, and sound design — all AI-generated — and they publish automatically on Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts with optimized hashtags.
  5. Recircular (Energy and Sustainability (Cleantech)). An AI-powered digital platform that connects waste and leftover materials from companies with others who can reuse or recycle them. The AI identifies opportunities for resource valorization, as well as potential users who can reuse or recycle them, and automatically notifies them that there is something available to take advantage of. With this platform, SMEs have simple circular opportunities that can generate a triple positive impact environmental, social, and economic.
  6. MindChef (Restaurants). An AI-powered SaaS platform designed for independent restaurants that enables menu management optimization, cost control, and improved profitability. It digitizes recipes from any format (images, PDFs, spreadsheets), automatically calculates the real cost of each dish, and adjusts prices based on fluctuations in ingredient costs. MindChef integrates financial planning and real-time tracking, allowing comparisons between forecasts and actual data, detecting variances, and understanding where margins are being eroded — whether in raw materials or operating expenses. The platform can extract structured information from delivery notes and invoices, updating purchase prices automatically and detecting unexpected supplier price hikes.
  7. Cobox (Logistics Retail/E-commerce, Logistics and Supply Chain). VictorIA is the AI designed to eliminate operational complexity for SMEs with omnichannel sales. Its main function is to act as a central brain that integrates orders from multiple sales channels (Shopify, Amazon, VTEX, among others) in real time, unifying the data chaos into a coherent operational flow.
  8. Temotiva Innovación Lab (Health/Medtech, Education (Edtech), HR Tech). An early burnout risk prevention system designed for SMEs that want to anticipate emotional fatigue and improve the sustainable performance of their teams. The solution combines short, periodic micro-evaluations with a predictive model based on pattern analysis and algorithmic scoring. The system analyzes variables such as sustained energy, perceived stress, workload, sleep quality, and perceived organizational support.

Congratulations to everyone!
