Nextcloud and IONOS have introduced IONOS Nextcloud Workspace, a European platform that offers a compelling alternative to offerings like Microsoft 365 while meeting the highest standards of data protection, security, and digital sovereignty. The Nextcloud-based office and collaboration platform runs on IONOS’s certified sovereign cloud infrastructure in German data centers.
Modular workspace for secure collaboration
IONOS Nextcloud Workspace is built on Nextcloud’s proven open-source technology and is specifically aimed at public sector institutions, mid-sized companies, and organizations with stringent data protection and digital sovereignty requirements. The platform combines core capabilities such as file storage, email and calendar services, video conferencing, and an intelligent AI assistant configured with IONOS AI Model Hub in an easy-to-use solution.
The AI assistant eases daily workflows by automating repetitive tasks, translating texts, creating images, and enabling efficient and intuitive use through its chat capability. Applications can be used flexibly, either individually or as part of a seamlessly integrated digital workspace. The software enables a smooth transition from existing systems to a comprehensive workspace environment. It complies with the GDPR, is transparent, and operates independently of American hyperscalers.

IONOS Nextcloud Workspace is now available. To celebrate the launch, IONOS is offering a 25-user package for just €1 per user in the first month. In the coming months, additional modules and services will be added, including advanced AI features for editing and analyzing documents, an enterprise-grade cloud-based virus scanner (Verdict as a Service) from G-Data, and integration with Data Center Designer, the GUI for the IONOS cloud.
