Oracle and OpenAI Bring ChatGPT to Business Management, Expanding AI Access for SMBs

October 30, 2026

Oracle has announced an expansion of its collaboration with OpenAI that will enable the integration of ChatGPT and other AI tools directly into its enterprise applications. The company has also unveiled a small business–focused offering that includes management tools, application development, and $12,000 in annual credits for cloud services.

Artificial intelligence is no longer just a standalone tool; it is becoming a core part of everyday business processes. With this goal in mind, Oracle announced a new phase of its collaboration with OpenAI, aimed at facilitating the integration of technologies like ChatGPT and Codex into enterprise-management applications, security systems, and cloud infrastructure.

The announcement came during Oracle AI World 2026, held in Las Vegas in parallel with SuiteWorld, two of the company’s major tech gatherings, to which MuyPymes attended as a guest media outlet. During these events, Oracle focused on one of the big transformations in enterprise software: the shift from traditional apps to environments where AI can query information, perform tasks, and actively participate in business processes.

For small and medium-sized enterprises, this evolution can be particularly compelling, as it opens the door to automating processes that previously required multiple tools, technical know-how, or substantial resource dedication.

Manage the business directly from ChatGPT

One of the main novelties of the alliance is Oracle AI Workspace, an environment that combines OpenAI’s models with enterprise applications, data, and Oracle’s cloud services.

The proposal is to enable professionals to interact with management systems using natural language. In this way, instead of navigating across different applications to locate information or complete certain operations, users will be able to use ChatGPT as a gateway to the organization’s data and processes.

Through ChatGPT plugins, Oracle AI Workspace is designed to connect solutions such as Oracle Fusion Applications, NetSuite, Oracle AI Database, and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, in addition to other enterprise tools and information sources.

The goal is for employees to articulate concrete needs, query information, or complete authorized workflows without having to jump from one platform to another. All of this while maintaining security controls, permissions, and approval procedures established by each organization.

This integration marks a step toward the so-called AI agents, systems capable of going beyond generating responses to intervene in certain business tasks under supervision.

Create applications with no coding required

Another announced feature is Oracle App Composer, a solution aimed at simplifying the development of enterprise applications through AI.

The tool uses Codex, OpenAI’s programming technology, so employees can build applications from their own needs without requiring advanced coding skills.

For example, a small business could create an internal app to organize customer requests, automate certain administrative processes, or centralize information from different departments. Oracle handles the deployment and operation of these applications on its cloud infrastructure, incorporating security, identity management, permissions, and auditing.

In addition, App Composer supports APEXlang, a new technology designed to facilitate AI-assisted development without producing hard-to-maintain code, addressing one of the challenges of automatically generated software.

An AI bundle specifically tailored for SMBs

One of the most notable announcements for the business ecosystem is Oracle AI SMB Bundle, a new offering designed to help small businesses and entrepreneurs start using advanced AI tools from the early stages of their activity.

The package allows starting for free and includes $12,000 annually in credits for Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, renewable for up to three years, subject to program terms.

The offering brings together ChatGPT Business for day-to-day tasks, Codex and Oracle App Composer for app development, Oracle AI Workspace to connect business information, and NetSuite QuickStart as a solution to manage essential operations, including invoicing and cash flow.

The package also includes free tiers of NetSuite QuickStart and App Composer, as well as starter credits for ChatGPT. However, access to the program is limited, requires approval, and is subject to usage terms.

For SMBs, the appeal lies in having access to a set of tools spanning financial management to digital product development, without having to buy and configure each solution separately.

Security also figures into the alliance

The collaboration between Oracle and OpenAI also includes the launch of Oracle AI Security Mesh, a managed service that uses OpenAI’s specialized models to identify and help remediate security vulnerabilities.

The solution is designed to perform authorized testing on applications and infrastructure, across Oracle Cloud Infrastructure as well as other clouds and on-prem environments.

The company will manage the testing infrastructure and necessary protective measures, while customers can specify which systems may be analyzed and under what conditions.

This approach may appeal to organizations needing to bolster cybersecurity but lacking dedicated teams capable of building and managing their own advanced analysis tools.

The new alliance ultimately reflects where the enterprise software market is headed. Artificial intelligence is no longer seen merely as an assistant that answers questions or generates documents; it is a technology integrated into daily management, able to query information, develop applications, and execute authorized processes.

For SMBs, the main challenge will be turning these new possibilities into tangible productivity and efficiency gains, while keeping data security, cost control, and technological dependence in view. The actual availability of the new solutions, their terms of procurement, and their integration with existing systems will be decisive factors in adoption.
