MAPFRE Boosts Linces, Its Intrapreneurship Program

August 9, 2026

Linces is Mapfre’s intrapreneurship program, designed to engage employees in tackling the company’s strategic challenges through innovative ideas. The initiative promotes cross-functional collaboration and turns internal talent into a catalyst for change as it develops new solutions aimed at improving the customer experience and safeguarding policyholders.

The program, in its first phase, has already logged more than 350 proposals, highlighting the innovative potential of Mapfre’s workforce. From these ideas, six finalists were chosen, helping push the insurer toward a model that is increasingly centered on customers’ needs. In addition, the program also serves as a learning platform for employees, who can develop new skills and broaden their professional experience in collaborative work settings.

“Linces represents an opportunity to foster a culture of open innovation within the organization, driving collaboration across diverse profiles and enabling the creation of proposals that improve our relationship with customers,” the company noted.

Six projects to reinvent the customer relationship

Linces offers two paths for Mapfre professionals to participate: presenting their own idea to solve one of the proposed challenges or joining the multidisciplinary teams that will develop the chosen projects. In the final stage, participants apply agile methodologies to turn innovative concepts into business-ready solutions.

The six finalist proposals, presented on July 3 at Linces’ grand finale, were selected based on the three major strategic challenges defined by the company: hyper-personalization, the relationship model, and the customer experience. With this criterion, the jury awarded the prize to the “Mapfre Active” team, which demonstrated with a flawless presentation that daring to innovate makes a difference. As an extra prize, a trip accompanying the Spanish national team to the World Cup was drawn among the six finalists.

Innovation from Within

The event demonstrated that innovation, talent, and big ideas are part of Mapfre’s DNA among its employees. Elena Sanz, CEO of Mapfre Iberia, who served as sponsor and jury member, noted: “you must always dare to share ideas, without fear of making mistakes.” She also highlighted the importance of listening, fostering inclusion, and adapting to change. “Our customers are demanding it, our teams are driving it, and Mapfre is ready to make it a reality.”

The rest of the jury consisted of Rafael Ruiz, Director of Strategy and Sustainability for Mapfre Iberia; Enrique Flores-Calderón, Director of Digitalization for Mapfre Spain; Javier Solís, Director of Mapfre Spain’s Territorial Network; and Ana Vaquero, Technical Director of Life and Accident Insurance for Mapfre Spain.

With programs like Linces, Mapfre solidifies its innovation model and places employees at the center of the business transformation, with the capability to redefine the insurer’s value proposition in key areas such as personalized protection, risk prevention, and the customer’s digital experience.
