IGNITE Copilot: The ChatGPT for Teachers

June 1, 2026

IGNITE Copilot, the artificial intelligence platform designed for teachers and educational institutions, has integrated a conversational AI agent that redefines how educators plan their pedagogical activities.

This new agent allows the teacher to express themselves in their own words. The system understands the context, interprets pedagogical needs, and provides actionable responses instantly. “It’s like having a co-pilot who knows your subject, your level, and your way of working,” describe Jordi Carrasco and Ignacio Aso, the project directors. “We want the teacher to arrive on Monday with all their classes planned, with no overtime.”

The agent accompanies the teacher throughout the cycle, from learning objectives to content sequencing, activity proposals, and alignment with the official curriculum. It can work at the scale of a single session, a teaching unit, or an entire semester, adapting to the educational level and subject. Unlike other general-purpose assistants, it has been tuned with pedagogical criteria, ensuring coherence with best teaching practices and current curricular frameworks.

The technical development has been led by Paul Daniel, the project’s Lead Software Engineer, who has steered the agent’s architecture with a focus on interaction fluency and pedagogical integration. “The challenge wasn’t just to build a capable agent, but one that progressively learns and speaks the teacher’s language,” Daniel notes. The new agent is already available to all platform users, with no additional configuration.

AI is already accelerating educational transformation in Spain

On this International Day of Artificial Intelligence, the EdTech sector argues that AI is already present in teaching as an ally to the teacher to facilitate its pedagogical application. According to the study “Educating in the Age of Artificial Intelligence” by Empantallados and Gad3, 80% of teachers in Spain have already used generative AI tools, and six out of ten teachers consider that “AI is very present in their educational practice.” However, there is still a long road to the effective implementation of this technology in teachers’ workflows.

Industry data show that teachers dedicate up to 30% of their workday to planning tasks. IGNITE Copilot aims to significantly reduce that time, promising savings of between six and fifteen hours per week and freeing the teacher for what truly matters: teaching.

The platform, presented as “the ChatGPT for teachers,” offers a web-based solution for generating content and teaching resources, tailored to the current regulations of the various autonomous communities and to the LOMLOE (Spain’s current education law), as well as aligned with international education standards.
