HP IQ is the new connected ecosystem of HP’s intelligent devices, where local device intelligence and proximity connectivity with management capabilities combine to reach new levels of productivity and collaboration for employees on select HP AI-enabled PCs and workplace devices.
“The vision of HP for the future of work is an interconnected, smart ecosystem that smooths workflow across devices, spaces, and moments in users’ daily routines,” said Pablo Ugarte, Director of Personal Systems. “HP IQ is how we connect those experiences, reducing digital friction for employees while aligning with the environments IT departments already manage, so organizations can realize these experiences with full confidence.”
Device-integrated intelligence, right where work happens
According to HP’s 2025 Work Relationship Index, access to the right tools and technology is a key factor in ensuring a great employee experience; in fact, the more knowledge workers use AI, the better their relationship with work. HP IQ makes that promise real by delivering powerful intelligence embedded in the device, turning HP devices employees use daily into environment-aware systems that help them eliminate routine tasks, gain deeper insights, and make faster, smarter decisions. The first device-integrated AI experiences from HP IQ, debuting on the next generation of HP EliteBook X G2 PCs, will include:
- Ask IQ: responds to text and voice inputs with intelligent, contextual answers and guidance.
Analyze: helps users interact with personal files (including PDFs, TXT, DOC, and PPT) to surface summaries and useful information. - Notes & Knowledge: maintains a continuous log of interactions so employees can pick up where they left off and organizes notes for easier searching and sharing.
- Meeting Agent: quickly captures ideas or notes during a meeting without switching apps, helping participants stay focused.
Throughout the year, additional AI capabilities will be rolled out to more HP devices.
Seamless collaboration across the ecosystem
HP IQ also includes HP NearSense, a new spatial intelligence that helps devices detect, connect, and collaborate, simplifying transitions between tasks and environments. This solution eases moving work between nearby devices by enabling real-time sharing of context and capabilities. It is expected to power experiences on the HP EliteBook X G2 AI PCs and other selected HP laptops, through features such as:
- The simplest PC-to-PC file-sharing solution that offers the most secure experience: drag and drop documents, images, and presentations to nearby colleagues instantly
- One-click join provides smooth, one-click options to join meetings in conference rooms.
Over time, HP NearSense features are planned to extend across HP’s ecosystem to HP Poly video collaboration solutions, printing devices, desktops, workstations, peripherals, and more, enabling future proximity-based experiences such as:
- Faster discovery of devices in shared spaces, like conference rooms
- Simplified setup and automatic pairing with headsets and peripherals
- Streaming from a PC to a nearby display or to a conference room display
- Printing and scanning from nearby printers without installing a driver
Adaptive and intuitive AI that keeps employees in the flow
Employees access HP IQ capabilities through its new Visor on the PC experience layer, an intelligent software surface that presents relevant actions and controls at the right moment without forcing a switch of apps. Designed for natural language interaction via voice and text, Visor adapts to context and intent as employees progress through their day, delivering private, responsive, and effortless intelligence.
HP IQ is built on a local model with
20 billion parameters, plus specialized tools and a task coordinator. This enables secure, fast, and responsive AI that can operate in more places, including environments with limited connectivity. It’s designed to run many experiences on-device, while routing selected tasks to the cloud only when company policy and user permissions allow. With its on-device-first design, the ecosystem prioritizes storing data on the device, reducing exposure risk and ensuring that confidential information, intellectual property, and business know-how remain under IT’s control.
HP IQ is designed for modern work environments where intelligent experiences must work reliably across devices and spaces. Configuration, policies, updates, security, and compliance can be managed through the HP Workforce Experience Platform (WXP), HP’s control plane for the employee experience. By integrating with WXP, HP IQ provides IT leaders with the visibility and control needed to deliver high-quality employee experiences at scale. HP IQ can also be configured and deployed through other established IT tools, such as Microsoft Intune.
