DocuWare has launched a next-generation platform that redefines the way companies manage and use their documents. This new solution unites three technological advances into one connected platform: a redesigned web and mobile experience, DocuWare Aura, an AI assistant integrated for search and analysis of documents, and expanded capabilities for DocuWare IDP.
The new DocuWare will be available to customers on all of their devices, from desktop and laptop computers to tablets and smartphones.
Michael Bochmann, Director of Product and Technology, stated: «With the new DocuWare we are redefining the role of documents in the digital enterprise. Critical business information should not remain trapped in files, but actively contribute to decision-making, drive processes, and enable intelligent automation. Thanks to the latest AI and automation technologies, the new DocuWare turns content into actionable knowledge and lays the groundwork for a new generation of knowledge-based work.»
A Redesigned Web and Mobile Experience
The core of the new DocuWare is a completely redesigned, easy-to-use interface that blends modern design with smooth navigation. Developed in accordance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA, the new DocuWare enables users of all experience levels to work with their documents efficiently and flexibly.
The new mobile app complements the platform. Users can search and share documents quickly from anywhere, manage their assigned tasks to keep workflows moving, receive instant alerts, and import files and documents.
The new DocuWare replaces the previous web client and mobile app, which will be renamed Classic DocuWare. During the deployment period, the new DocuWare and Classic DocuWare will run in parallel, allowing current users to switch when it best fits their needs.
DocuWare Aura: An Integrated AI Assistant
DocuWare Aura, the AI assistant integrated into the new DocuWare, transforms document management and information retrieval. Available to all DocuWare Cloud customers, it provides direct access to DocuWare archives and enables queries, summarization, and comparison of information to support better-informed business decisions. Unlike general-purpose AI chatbots, DocuWare Aura does not rely on public information or disconnected data sources.
Access repositories directly within the organization, respect existing permissions, and analyze business documents stored in DocuWare. Users can pose business questions in natural language and receive answers based on their own organization’s documentation, with direct references to the original sources.
On the other hand, DocuWare IDP is an AI-powered solution that captures, classifies, and automatically extracts data from documents; it is now more tightly integrated into the platform and gains new capabilities. The new Zero Shot Extraction feature, based on generative AI, enables the system to extract data from document types it has not previously processed, without prior training. DocuWare IDP now supports OCR (Optical Character Recognition), converting the text from scanned documents and images into machine-readable data in 20 languages. This facilitates automated document capture in the languages used by each company. It also incorporates Master Data Matching, which compares data extracted from documents with master data from other systems, such as ERPs, to generate usable business records.
