What began a decade ago as the search for a shoe that respected the natural development of a child’s foot has grown into a much broader project. The Valencia-based brand Zapato Feroz launches a new chapter and is simply renamed Feroz, an evolution that reflects the organic growth of a company that today transcends the product to become a reference space on free movement, childhood, foot health, community, and support for families.
This new identity arrives accompanied by the launch of a completely redesigned website, conceived not only as a sales channel but as the brand’s digital home. A space where barefoot footwear, outreach, research, Ferozland, educational content, family guides, and a unique approach to understanding child development coexist.
The change is not about an aesthetic strategy or a break with the past. On the contrary. The company believes that the name with which it was born described its origins well, but it no longer captured everything it had become.
«We haven’t changed, we’ve grown. Zapato Feroz described our origin very well, but it fell short of explaining all that moves us today. Changing our name to Feroz allows us to broaden the story without losing our roots. We’re dropping ‘Zapato’, not our origin», explains Laura García Perdomo, cofounder of the company.
Origins and Objectives
When Laura García Perdomo and Héctor Nebot founded Zapato Feroz, the goal was very concrete: design a shoe that accompanied the natural development of a child’s foot without correcting or limiting it. Over the years, that family need gave rise to a community of thousands of families who share a common understanding of childhood and movement.
Today Feroz continues designing barefoot footwear for babies, children and adults, but also drives gatherings with families, generates educational contents, collaborates with health and education professionals, develops projects like Ferozland, and works to bring knowledge about the natural development of the foot to an ever-broader audience.
«We still believe that the foot comes before the shoe. And that respecting the natural movement of a person from childhood is also a way of respecting their development, their autonomy and their way of discovering the world», adds Nebot.
The evolution of the brand is also reflected in a completely renovated digital platform. The new website reorganizes the Feroz universe to integrate, alongside the product catalog, content about foot health, free movement, sustainability, manufacturing, community, practical guides, family assistance and all the activity surrounding Ferozland. The aim is that anyone arriving for the first time can understand not only what the brand sells, but also why it exists and what purpose it serves.
The platform also improves navigation, introduces a more mature and orderly visual identity, and reinforces the educational role the company has developed over recent years, explaining in simple terms what barefoot footwear is, why natural foot development matters, and how small changes can influence the way we move from childhood.
Although the name changes, the company insists that its essence remains intact. Feroz will continue to manufacture close by, maintaining a direct relationship with its factory in Portugal, betting on quality materials, a functional design, and growth that aligns with the values that have guided it since its beginnings. It will also continue defending an idea that has guided all its decisions over the past ten years: spreading respect for childhood starting with the feet.
