TD SYNNEX has entrusted JHernando to automate its new logistics distribution center in Guadalajara. The company, specializing in engineering, manufacturing and integration of intralogistics automation solutions, has installed a modular, multi-output TramoSort sorter designed to improve goods sorting and bolster the efficiency of TD SYNNEX’s distribution operations in the Iberian Peninsula.
Operational Optimization
The project developed by JHernando consists of an automated sorting system designed to organize and route merchandise flows to their respective logistical destinations. The solution will help streamline shipment preparation, improve load distribution by route, and reduce operational times, enabling greater traceability in a center conceived to handle high volumes of activity.
The implementation includes a self-manufactured TramoSort sorter with capacity of up to 5,000 p/h to classify orders by delivery destination, customer, or carrier. The system features three distinct infeed points—two on the ground floor and one on the mezzanine—depending on the type of operation.
To route merchandise toward the 17 outputs where the mixed ramps (motorized/gravity) bring packages back to the ground floor, it uses an approved analyzer with a continuous weighing scale, autofocus volumetry and a five-faced camera reader. The technology also includes a recirculation carousel that maintains operational continuity and prevents line stoppages, thus optimizing throughput.
“The installation of the sorter represents a key element within the center’s operations, as it enables more efficient management of shipments and contributes to strengthening TD SYNNEX’s ability to offer faster and more precise service to its customers in Spain and Portugal,” says Juan Francisco Hernando, CEO of JHernando.
“From the outset of the project, the collaboration with JHernando has been very fluid and oriented toward finding the most suitable solution for our operations. Their technical knowledge and their ability to accompany us through the different phases of the project have been key to integrating a flexible sorting system that meets the center’s current needs and provides greater efficiency and service capacity for Spain and Portugal,” says Roger Hyam, Iberia Logistics Director at TD SYNNEX.
The collaboration with JHernando has not been limited to manufacturing and supplying the equipment; it has accompanied TD SYNNEX through the different phases of the project, from needs analysis and defining the most suitable solution to integrating the system into the center’s operations.
