Scoutyn is the new advanced database focused on technology and innovative companies, and it is presented as a tool designed to improve and professionalize access to information about the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Spain and Portugal.
The platform emerges as a market intelligence solution that enables expanding startup dealflow from pre-seed stages, and to analyze the evolution of scaleups and innovative SMEs based on structured, reliable, and actionable financial data, with information validated by official sources such as the Mercantile Registry. The database currently exceeds 10,000 active companies.
Founded and led by José María Torrego, Scoutyn tackles one of the sector’s main challenges: the lack of access to consolidated, up-to-date, and decision-ready information in environments of high uncertainty.
“Scoutyn is born to solve a very clear problem: to improve access to the dealflow of companies from very early stages, with reliable, structured information obtained from the mercantile registry. Our goal is to facilitate access to new companies for our clients and turn data into a real decision-making tool, allowing investors, corporates or institutions to identify opportunities before the market,” says Torrego.
A real-time read of the ecosystem
Scoutyn integrates multiple layers of key information for business analysis: from corporate and financial data to information about investors, shareholding structure, and activity signals such as rounds, expansion, or operational dynamism. One of its differentiators is the ability to identify companies in the process of fundraising, as well as access —where available— to materials such as investment decks, enabling users to get ahead of opportunities before they become public.

Scoutyn will incorporate a database specialized in the main investment players in the ecosystem in Spain and Portugal, including venture capital funds and profiles of business angels. The platform will allow analyzing their activity through key variables such as investment volume, average deal size, sectors of interest, deals completed, or exit history.
This module will help innovative startups and SMEs identify potential investors aligned with their stage and vertical, while also enabling corporations and institutions to better understand the capital dynamics in the ecosystem and detect investment trends.
Shaping the Future Trends in Spain
The platform will include a dedicated trends section that will allow analyzing the evolution of the technology ecosystem from multiple dimensions. Through aggregated data, Scoutyn will provide a detailed view of the business fabric by autonomous communities, sectors, and company typologies (from startups and scaleups to spin-offs and technology SMEs).
Additionally, this module will incorporate key indicators such as revenue, employment generation or gender gap, enabling identification of growth patterns, sectoral concentration, and emerging dynamics that anticipate where the ecosystem in Spain and Portugal is headed.
