Oryon Universal has reached an agreement to sell its stake in Founderz, the online business school focused on artificial intelligence founded by Pau Garcia-Milà and Anna Cejudo. Following the deal, the Spanish investment firm will retain approximately 4% of the company’s equity. Additionally, Víctor Giné, founder and CEO of Oryon Universal, will step down from the company’s board.
Oryon entered Founderz’s equity in 2021 as a cornerstone investor after recognizing its potential in the realm of digital education and artificial intelligence. Since then, it has led three fundraising rounds that have accelerated five years of growth for the business school. The amount of the transaction has not been disclosed.
Founderz is a business school specialized in artificial intelligence and a global training partner of Microsoft, dedicated to teaching AI and its application in business. This deal places the Spanish company within the portfolio of one of the world’s largest media groups.
The acquisition was carried out by Fitch Learning, the educational division of Fitch Group, owned by Hearst Corporation. The American conglomerate is one of the largest private information and services groups in the world, with a presence in more than 40 countries.
