The Spanish brand NZI Helmets has taken a decisive step toward digitalizing the industrial sector with the launch of the 3D Helmets by NZI 3D configurator, a solution that combines artificial intelligence, real-time rendering, and on-demand manufacturing to redefine product customization.
The new AI-powered 3D configurator represents a technological leap in digital helmet customization by allowing users to create completely unique models, from scratch, through an intuitive, precise, and highly visual interface. The platform integrates multiple layers of advanced technology, including dynamic material and finish selection, upload of user-provided images, and AI-generated graphics, configuring a digital ecosystem that transforms the creative process into an interactive, real-time experience.
This solution relies on AI models capable of generating original illustrations from user inputs, introducing a component of assisted creativity into the configuration process. This capability enables validating combinations, finishes, and graphic compositions before production, optimizing decision-making and the precision of the final result.
“We are aware that the helmet is not just a safety accessory, but a key part of each customer’s personal style. With this tool, every rider can express who they are without sacrificing protection or comfort,” says Nazario Ibáñez, CEO of NZI.
AI, On-Demand Manufacturing, and Digital Experience
Beyond the visual layer, the system introduces improvements in the value chain through an optimized on-demand production model. Each generated design is directly integrated into the manufacturing flow, reducing inventories and enabling final product delivery in approximately 10 days.
From a technological standpoint, the platform represents the convergence of several key trends:
- Generative artificial intelligence applied to product design
- Interactive 3D interfaces accessible to end users
- Customized manufacturing at industrial scale
- Digital experiences that connect directly with production
The 3D Helmets by NZI project demonstrates how AI can be integrated into real-world industrial environments beyond experimental cases. The platform not only enhances the user experience but also optimizes internal processes, reduces design friction, and opens up new opportunities in the direct relationship with the customer.
