The logistics and commerce sector is projected to generate a net employment outlook of 14% for the third quarter of 2026, according to ManpowerGroup’s Employment Outlook Study. This forecast places the sector among activities with favorable hiring prospects for the coming months.
Despite the moderation registered compared to the previous quarter, logistics and commerce companies continue to show a sustained hiring intent. With a forecast of 14%, the sector sits in the mid-to-upper range of the sector rankings, remaining a key area for economic activity and the functioning of supply chains.
Although the employment outlook slips from the prior quarter, the sector maintains a positive and steady trajectory. Talent demand remains relevant in an environment shaped by the transformation of distribution models, the rise of e-commerce, and the optimization of logistics operations.
After Telecommunications, Media and Entertainment (33%), the sectors with the strongest hiring forecasts are Energy and Utilities and Technology (20%), followed by Hospitality (18%), Financials and Insurance (16%) and Construction and Real Estate (15%). Next, behind Logistics and Commerce come Professional Services (12%), Healthcare and the Public Sector (11%), and Industry (10%).
In the words of Antonio Holgado, Sector Director of Logistics at ManpowerGroup, “despite occasional fluctuations, the logistics and commerce activity maintains a steady capacity to generate employment and is continually seeking new capabilities, driven by the transformation of supply chains and the evolution of consumer behavior, which reinforces its role as a key sector in the current economic context.”
Although the employment generation forecast for the sector reaches 23% globally, in Spain it stands at 14%, reflecting lower momentum in the national environment. Nevertheless, the sector shows stronger performance than the overall Spanish market, whose net outlook sits at 11%, consolidating its role as one of the pillars of economic activity.
