Elgato adds to its catalog of professional solutions a new use case in elite sports: Stream Deck XL has become the officiating-management device used in competitions such as UEFA events and the Basketball Final Four, in partnership with Precio Led, a specialist in visualization and control systems for professional sports.
The Challenge: managing every second with no margin for error
In a high-level sporting competition, every goal, foul, or change to the score must be recorded instantly, with thousands of fans following the match both in the arena and on screens. Before this solution, referees and operators had to manage these actions by distributing their attention across multiple windows and devices, seeking the right control while the game continued without pause.
Precio Led has developed, on top of Elgato hardware, a tailored integration with its video scoreboard software that concentrates all match actions on a single panel of programmable keys. Referees visualize exactly what they need and execute each action with a single touch. The software connects Stream Deck XL to the venue’s visualization systems and broadcast, achieving faster response times, fewer errors, and an optimized workflow that keeps referees focused on the game.
Why Stream Deck XL Is Right for This Kind of Environment
Stream Deck was designed for content creators, but its architecture is what has opened its door to professional settings far from consumer streaming: an 8×4 grid with 32 customizable LCD keys, each with a dynamic icon and instant tactile response, mounted on a non-slip magnetic stand that holds the working angle throughout the session. For a referee in the middle of an arena, that means not having to look twice before pressing.
