Investing in Professional Farming Opens to New Investor Profiles

July 9, 2026

Spain’s professional agriculture is undergoing a profound transformation driven by tech adoption, professionalization of management, and growing international demand for high-value crops such as avocados, citrus and olive groves. However, direct investment in these assets has historically been reserved for large patrimonies and institutional investors due to high entry barriers and the complexity of managing them.

Fundeen aims to change that by bringing agri-food assets onto its investment platform. This new line will enable new investor profiles to access professional farming operations through a regulated, digital model grounded in the real economy.

Investment Interests

Developed in this initial stage alongside Aurea Agro, a subsidiary of the Aurea Capital group, the initiative aims to bring investment opportunities linked to the primary sector to a community increasingly interested in tangible, sustainable assets connected to the land.

«For years, investment in quality agricultural assets has been out of reach for most investors. With this new line of investment, we want to open the door to a new way of participating in the real economy, with the same transparency and rigor that we already offer in renewable energy», says Nacho Bautista, CEO of Fundeen.

The incorporation of the agri-food sector aligns with Fundeen’s diversification strategy into new investment verticals tied to sustainability and real assets. After establishing itself in renewable energy, the company now expands its activity with the aim of offering new opportunities to its investor community.

Today, the platform has more than 20,000 registered users, nearly 3,000 active investors, more than 38 financed projects and over €35 million channeled. Headquartered in Ávila and B Corp certified, it operates in areas such as solar photovoltaic, wind, agrivoltaics, electric mobility, CO2 sequestration and battery storage.

Investing in professional agriculture

The new agri-food investment line will focus on professional farming operations linked to high-value crops such as avocados, citrus, olive groves, almond orchards, and potentially pistachios. The selected projects must have a verifiable management track record, be in production or processing, and generate economic impact in the region.

The initiative seeks to channel investment toward a sector that needs financing to continue modernizing, adopting technology, improving its competitiveness, and strengthening local supply chains.

In this initial stage, Fundeen will have the support of Aurea Agro, a firm specialized in investment and asset management in agriculture. The company will contribute its expertise in opportunity identification, agronomic analysis, operational management, and on-the-ground project monitoring.

Founded in 2013, the Aurea Capital team has managed more than 5,200 hectares, transformed over 2,500 hectares, and farmed more than 6,000 hectares throughout its history.

«Professional agriculture is undergoing a profound transformation driven by technology adoption, improved management, and new financing models. Our collaboration with Fundeen brings that evolution to a much broader range of investors,

says Jose María Criado, Investment Director at Aurea Agro.

The first transaction of this new line will be on a farm located in Huelva. The operation will be structured as equity, allowing participants to become shareholders in the project and benefit from both the farm’s growth and the potential appreciation of the asset. In future operations, Fundeen may work with both equity and debt structures, depending on each project’s needs.
