HP has just launched the new enterprise printing families, HP Color LaserJet Enterprise 4000/X400 Series and HP LaserJet Enterprise MFP X728/Color X778 Series. These devices are designed to help organizations connect physical and digital workflows, protect information, and simplify the management of their devices.
As businesses blend paper and digital processes, managing printing infrastructure presents new challenges for IT teams. HP’s Workflow Wakeup report reveals that 78% of small and midsize businesses struggle to manage print hardware and consumables.
This growing integration of printing into IT infrastructures is also changing organizational needs, which are seeking solutions capable of boosting performance, reducing complexity, and automating document workflows. Ease of maintenance, centralized management, and AI-powered tools are increasingly important for administering print fleets.
“Enterprise printing is part of an increasingly connected technology backbone, and that changes what organizations expect from their devices,” says Pedro Brito, General Manager of Printing at HP Iberia. “It’s no longer just about printing and scanning faster; it’s about simplifying processes, anticipating potential issues, and safeguarding information throughout the device lifecycle. With these new ranges we’re taking a further step to ensure technology requires less intervention and helps people work more efficiently.”
Enterprise capabilities in a compact A4 format
The new HP Color LaserJet Enterprise 4000/X400 Series is designed for small teams that need to combine professional color printing, enterprise security, and easy management in a compact A4 footprint. The lineup offers higher printing and scanning speeds and a larger paper capacity than the previous generation, with print speeds up to 35 pages per minute, input capacity up to 1,400 sheets, and, in the multifunction models, single-pass duplex scanning at up to 80 images per minute.
According to a Quocirca study, 70% of SMBs reported data loss related to printing in the last year. To bolster protection for these environments, the HP Color LaserJet Enterprise 4000/X400 Series integrates HP Wolf Security and quantum-resistant security features. Tools such as HP FutureSmart, HP Web Jetadmin, HP Workforce Experience Platform, HP Security Manager, and HP Smart Device Services help IT teams deploy, monitor, and update devices. The lineup also facilitates the shift from paper to digital with PDF files that feature built-in searchable text, and in the X400 series’ multifunction printers, optional OCR to convert scanned documents into editable Microsoft files.
The HP OXPd compatibility further enables integration of printing and scanning workflows with applications and business processes directly from the device. In this way, the suite combines print and scan capabilities with tools to streamline management and strengthen protection.
A3 performance and intelligence to accelerate digitization
The new HP LaserJet Enterprise MFP X728 and HP Color LaserJet Enterprise MFP X778 Series target small teams and mid-to-large workgroups in enterprises and government sectors with higher print and scan requirements. The devices pair A3 performance with a scalable platform and deliver print speeds of up to 31 pages per minute. The Color X778 model also offers automatic duplex scanning at up to 120 images per minute, helping process large volumes of documents more quickly.
Artificial intelligence is embedded directly into the scanning and maintenance workflows. Devices can automatically extract and organize key information from documents such as invoices and forms, as well as convert scanned documents into editable Word, PowerPoint, or Excel files. HP Smart Device Services uses AI capabilities to monitor devices and anticipate maintenance needs before disruptions occur.
HP FutureSmart and the HP Workforce Experience Platform streamline centralized fleet management and updates, while HP Workpath Apps and the HP Open Extensibility Platform enable connecting devices with a range of applications and business processes. The line also incorporates HP Wolf Security and quantum-resistant security features to bolster device and information protection.
