Cegid continues to roll out several initiatives to help companies with operations in Mexico prepare for the changes introduced by the labor reform pushed by the country’s authorities. This regulatory shift will directly affect time management, labor compliance, and payroll processes.
The Spanish companies with subsidiaries in Mexico face operational restructuring due to recent changes in time-management regulations. To address this need, Cegid is expanding in the Latin American country, where its technology has been firmly established for years, implementing the advisory and technology deployment model it successfully developed in Spain starting in 2019, with the enforcement of the mandatory time-tracking requirement.
To this end, the action plan in Mexico adopts the approach used successfully in Spain, based on mitigating the impact of the new workday through technical adjustments and training—a process that demonstrated it is possible to ensure strict legal compliance while safeguarding organizational productivity.
The new Mexican labor reform introduces stricter requirements for traceability, time-keeping control, and digitization of processes, with a direct impact on operations, labor costs, and the risk of non-compliance. For Spanish companies, it also presents the challenge of managing different regulatory frameworks across increasingly complex multinational environments.
As part of this initiative, Cegid offers companies two pathways to access expert knowledge on the Mexican labor reform, tailored to the location of HR professionals in the country.
On the one hand, on June 17, the webinar “Myths and Realities of the Mexican Labor Reform” was held, aimed at executives, HR leaders, and legal teams seeking an initial clear view of the regulatory impact.
On the other hand, in late July, in-person training “Labor Reform and Urgent HR Challenges”, a more practical format focused on resolving concrete implementation questions, was held. At the in-person event, attendees could also interact directly with the expert and pose their own inquiries, in a context of high demand for legal clarity.
