Canon has announced the launch of a new generation of its imagePROGRAF TM and TX series, with 12 new models aimed at high-volume technical and professional wide-format printing applications.
Based on Canon’s experience in large-format printing, the new printers incorporate a new high-density matte black MBK ink and an image processing technology that enables greater line accuracy and better reproduction of details. The range includes multifunction models with scanning capabilities in both series and increases the use of recycled materials, with up to 25% recycled plastic and 5% recycled iron, as well as packaging without expanded polystyrene (EPS). Designed for applications ranging from CAD drawings, GIS maps, and technical documentation to posters and point-of-sale materials, the new devices combine higher print quality and productivity with improved sustainability features.
imagePROGRAF TM Series
The new imagePROGRAF TM series includes integrated multifunction printers (MFPs) TM-610M and TM-510M, along with six printer models: TM-600, TM-500, TM-610, TM-510, TM-615, and TM-515.
This range has been developed for small and medium-sized businesses in the Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC) sectors, as well as for in-house print environments in retail, hospitality, and education. These units deliver professional-quality technical and color results in a compact, easy-to-use design, with print speeds up to 3.2 ppm for A1-sized prints on the 36-inch models.
For the TM series, Canon has introduced multifunction models with integrated scanners for the first time, eliminating the need for a separate scanning unit. The TM-510M and TM-610M combine printer and scanner in a single compact device, simplifying installation and operation thanks to a single power supply, a single IP address, and a unified user interface, accessible through a new 5-inch tiltable touchscreen.
The TM-510M and TM-610M streamline workflows for scanning and large-format printing by integrating both functions into a single device. Scan speeds are up to five times higher than in previous configurations, while the double-sided LED illumination helps improve the digitization of folded and old documents, thanks to light sources located on both sides of the sensor, which reduces shadows and brightness variations caused by creases and wrinkles.
Across the TM range, the new high-density MBK ink, improved image processing, and better color management on plain paper enable technically precise results, in addition to deeper blacks and more vibrant colors. This enables addressing a wide range of applications, from drawings and technical plans to posters and point-of-sale materials.
Within the TM series, Mopria certification also enables printing without drivers on Windows and Android, while compatibility with IPP Class drivers and Windows Protected Print Mode provides greater flexibility in different IT environments.
imagePROGRAF TX Series
The new imagePROGRAF TX series is formed by the TX-4300, 44 inches, and TX-3300, 36 inches. Also available are the multifunction TX-4310, 44 inches, and TX-3310, 36 inches, which pair the printer with an independent scanning solution from Global Scanning (GS) for organizations that need broad scanning capabilities.
Designed for large organizations in the Architecture, Engineering, Construction and Manufacturing sectors that require high security, as well as for corporate and government departments and print service providers, the new TX lineup offers print speeds up to 3.3 ppm for A1-sized prints.
The dual-roll media handling, hot-swappable ink reservoirs, and automatic calibration features help minimize downtime and maintain consistent print quality. Additionally, a new removable tray enables neatly stacking large sets of plans face-down, preserving their print order. Compatible with continuous production at A0 and A1 sizes and reducing operator intervention, this tray helps maintain productivity during high-volume production jobs.
The new MBK high-density ink and the improved image processing offer precise line definition and a higher level of technical detail, enabling applications ranging from CAD drawings and GIS maps to engineering documentation. Auto-load of supports, simplified support setup, and a user-friendly 4.3-inch touchscreen further streamline daily operation.
The TX series also incorporates advanced security features, such as PIN-based printing, encrypted communications, and secure hard drive erasure, helping organizations protect sensitive technical documentation and business data. When configured with Global Scanning’s Z36 GS scanner, the TX multifunction models enable simultaneous scanning and printing. Users can scan the next plan while the previous one is printing, or print documents from a PC while a scan is in progress.
Additionally, the new imagePROGRAF TM and TX printers incorporate a higher proportion of recycled materials and EPS-free packaging. Some models are also listed in the U.S. EPEAT registry, recognizing electronic devices that meet certain environmental performance criteria.
