Brother and Infofive have signed an agreement to drive a joint solution aimed at improving traceability, labeling, and the management of production processes in the meat industry. The alliance combines Infofive’s sector expertise with Brother’s professional printing and labeling solutions to facilitate meat industry companies’ faster integration between software and hardware in a field where the correct identification of each product, batch, and movement is decisive for production, profitability, and health compliance.
Infofive is a technology company with 25 years of history and a solid specialization with more than two decades of knowledge specific to the meat sector. The company offers 5STC, a specialized software that covers among other things production, traceability, labeling, invoicing, administration, and connection with other management systems with a consultative approach tailored specifically to each plant and process in the meat industry.
The agreement responds to the will of both companies to take a step further in a business relationship that dates back more than 20 years and that began with faxes, office printing solutions and managed print services. Infofive currently has hundreds of Brother devices installed in managed service mode, and since its market launch has incorporated the brand’s labeling solutions into projects linked to the meat industry. After various tested experiences with customers and integration developments, the two companies have decided to formalize a stable collaboration based on specialized software, professional label-printing equipment, and close support.
Core part of the process: labeling for traceability
Traceability and labeling are essential in the meat industry given the need to properly identify every transformation of the product. The entry of animals or pieces, the butchering, storage, freezing, dispatch, or delivery to the customer generates information that must be associated with a batch and reflected on a label. When this process fails, operations could be compromised: health incidents may occur and, in certain cases, a piece or batch may be rendered unusable if there is not timely and correct identification. For this reason, the agreement positions label printing as a central part of the production process.
The integration between Infofive’s 5STC software and Brother’s professional labeling solutions enables streamlining of critical operations in production environments. The proposal facilitates equipment replacement in case of incidents, management of different label models, and updating information without complex processes on the machine, which helps reduce downtime and maintain operational continuity in plants where label printing is vital, as it accompanies every phase of the product. This capability is especially relevant in a sector subject to activity spikes, health requirements, and administrative controls that require reliable, accessible, and traceable information.
