Mondelēz Spain has demonstrated its commitment to social and environmental well-being through its charitable program MDLZ Changemakers. Across 2025, 142 company employees participated in a variety of corporate volunteering initiatives, dedicating a total of 491 hours to actions aimed at supporting vulnerable groups or protecting the environment.
During the year, the company has driven a set of initiatives focused on direct impact in local communities, developed in collaboration with various social entities and non-profit organizations, with the goal of addressing real needs through the active involvement of its employees.
In the social arena, Mondelēz Spain partnered with the Red Cross in Madrid, taking part in logistical support efforts intended to facilitate care for people and families in vulnerable situations, helping the organization sort school supplies as well as toys for the youngest during Back-to-School and Christmas campaigns. Likewise, company employees participated in volunteer days with the PRODIS Foundation in Madrid and the Finestrelles Foundation in Barcelona, where staff collaborated with people with intellectual disabilities from both organizations in making costumes for the superhero kits that the Little Wish Foundation provides to pediatric hospitals as an emotional tool for sick children.
Volunteer efforts also included collaboration with the San Simón Rojas Social Dining Hall, where volunteers took part in breakfast service and support tasks that helped reinforce daily care for people at risk of social exclusion.
In parallel, Mondelēz Spain also launched a major environmental initiative in collaboration with the Red Cross, aimed at caring for and preserving natural spaces. Specifically, a cleanup day at the San Juan Reservoir was carried out, with 65 employees participating, becoming the company’s most attended volunteer action in recent years in Spain.
“To us, volunteering is, above all, a deeply human experience. Behind every initiative there are employees who choose to get involved, share their time, and connect with realities very different from their own. Through MDLZ Changemakers, the global charitable program we created in 2012, we collaborate with social and environmental organizations to address real needs and strive to generate a positive and lasting impact in the communities where we operate. The commitment of our employees makes these initiatives possible, but the true value of the program lies in its ability to create connections, support vulnerable groups, and contribute tangibly to social and environmental well-being,” says Esther Patino, Senior Manager Corporate & Government Affairs at Mondelēz International Iberia.
