Panasonic Toughbook G3 Tablet

October 14, 2026

The new Panasonic TOUGHBOOK G3 marks a major advance for rugged tablets. Panasonic’s new battery architecture offers unmatched longevity and options, while its lightweight, agile, and modular design is engineered for mobile users in defense, emergency services, utilities, surveying, manufacturing, logistics, and automotive sectors.

The G3 embodies Panasonic’s DNA of durability, modularity, enterprise-grade security, next-generation AI performance, and infrastructure continuity—hallmarks that have become synonymous with the entire TOUGHBOOK lineup. This familiarity, paired with the brand’s European full-service support, enables teams to deploy different TOUGHBOOK models across varied environments without investing in alternative workflows or infrastructures.

Battery life and versatility redefine expectations

Panasonic’s new pouch-style battery technology in the G3 raises battery life by 39%, giving users a choice among three batteries: 8.5 hours, 17 hours, and 24 hours per charge. The G3’s 99Wh battery—the highest-capacity pack available on any TOUGHBOOK—is designed for the longest shifts, where access to AI-powered, high-energy-demanding applications is a field priority, giving field users a significant advantage.

Field workers can choose the battery that best fits their environment. Whether access to electricity is limited or they rarely use it away from charging points, the G3 lets teams balance usability, endurance, weight, and budget—maximizing return on investment. The G3 also features hot-swappable battery capability, with an optional new ‘bridge’ battery that enables a seamless swap without powering down the device.

Next-generation agility and modularity

Designed for long shifts in dynamic, demanding field environments, the TOUGHBOOK G3 delivers light, compact, and rugged mobility in a versatile form factor. Its 10.1-inch display and portable design facilitate transport, docking, and use between vehicles, tight spaces, and frontline operations.

Built on Panasonic’s “Engineered for Motion” philosophy, the TOUGHBOOK G3 enhances comfort and efficiency for field workers. Its ergonomic design makes it adaptable and agile for any application, whether as a conventional tablet, docked in emergency-vehicle installations, or mounted on warehouse forklifts to streamline supply chain and logistics flows.

It can also be attached to a detachable keyboard, equipped with the G3’s Ergo Grip handle. This reduces fatigue and ensures a secure, non-slip grip during extended transport. User-replaceable expansion modules, compatible with smart cards, fingerprint readers, and barcodes, and a fast-extract SSD enable adapting the G3 to different user roles, security requirements, and work environments.

The G3 features five programmable buttons with up to 10 configurable shortcuts, accessible via short and long presses, enhancing overall ease of use. It can also be operated through the touchscreen, with gloves, or with a digital stylus, allowing teams to optimize workflows and switch between applications with ease.

Unparalleled AI performance

As an advanced TOUGHBOOK AI PC, the G3 delivers next-generation performance on the latest Intel Core Ultra Series 3 platform, with dual-channel RAM. This gives mobile teams speed, responsiveness, and an AI-ready foundation to run demanding field workflows on Windows 11 Pro. With Copilot+ capabilities, the G3 can collect, store, and analyze mission-critical data at the edge without relying on a continuous cloud connection.

Panasonic TOUGHBOOK is the only rugged device line certified for use with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and Red Hat Device Edge (RHDE). The G3 offers a secure platform for real-time edge data processing, optimized enterprise deployments, and greater resilience in mission-critical environments.

The G3 includes Wi‑Fi 7 connectivity, with optional standalone 4G or 5G capabilities. Standalone and private 5G networks are ideal for field workers in utilities and roadside-assistance roles who need instant connectivity in remote areas. A dedicated LAN port also provides stable connectivity when returning to base.

When operating tactical command-and-control tools in the defense sector, this level of connectivity is essential to ensure low-latency, high-speed communications. Regardless of the environment, the G3 provides fast and reliable network access whenever field workflows demand it.

Designed to meet IP66 standards for dust and water ingress, the G3 has undergone vibration testing to MIL-STD 810H specifications, can withstand drops of up to 180 cm (about 6 feet), and operates in temperatures from -29°C to 63°C (about -20°F to 145°F).
