31% of Companies Prioritize Reducing Financial Risk Through Cybersecurity

August 24, 2026

According to a Kaspersky survey, 99% of companies already regard cybersecurity as a strategic necessity for business, a perception that reflects how digital protection has moved from being a technical function to becoming a key driver of competitiveness, resilience, and business growth.

These findings take on particular relevance in a context marked by the rapid adoption of cloud, Artificial Intelligence, and automation. As organizations advance in their digital transformation, cybersecurity stops being seen as a mere protective barrier and becomes an enabler of innovation.

The reduction of financial risk, the main benefit for Spanish companies

In Spain, the main benefit that companies associate with cybersecurity is the reduction of financial risks and unexpected losses, a priority for 31% of respondents. In a context of increasing digitalization and rising threats, organizations consider strengthening security a way to protect both their resources and the stability of the business.

The second most valued aspect by Spaniards is the ability to prevent cyberattacks before having to manage their consequences, cited by 26% of participants. This reflects a shift in focus: companies are increasingly prioritizing prevention over reaction, aware that anticipating an incident is far more cost-effective than dealing with its impact once it occurs.

Operational efficiency improvement ranks third (25%). Reducing the number of incidents, optimizing system workloads, and simplifying security management enables organizations to devote more resources to innovation and growth.

«As organizations accelerate their digital transformation, cybersecurity has evolved from a purely defensive function to a strategic enabler of innovation and sustainable growth. This shift is increasingly reflected in the priorities of business leaders, who understand that an effective security strategy should not only strengthen resilience but also simplify the management of increasingly complex IT environments. That’s why we continue investing in platform-based, end-to-end solutions such as Kaspersky Next XDR Expert, which brings together prevention, detection, and response in a single ecosystem, enabling organizations to manage security more efficiently and support their long-term business goals,” explains Ilya Markelov, head of Kaspersky’s Unified Platform product line.
