A few days ago the fifth edition of the Sevilla SVQ Emprende Forum was held, an annual gathering that brings together representatives from more than 60 entities in the socio-economic ecosystem of the Andalusian city, tied to promoting the creation of new businesses and the development of existing ones. There were business organizations, universities, technology parks, foundations, accelerators and business incubators, groups of investors, professional associations, business schools, social economy entities, technology communities, coworking spaces.
A total of 200 people attended the municipal headquarters on Paseo Alcalde Marqués del Contadero to learn from examples and exchange experiences on how to evolve the resources and services that support entrepreneurship, with the aim of continuing to improve the boost to the various business models being launched. From small and medium-sized enterprises focused on proximity needs in Seville and its geographic surroundings to startups aiming to scale their innovation globally.
In Seville there is an increasingly broad and diversified entrepreneurial ecosystem. To facilitate information for anyone interested, both residents and those who might choose the city to establish themselves and launch their project, Seville Emprendedora (Seville Entrepreneurial Initiative), from the Seville City Hall, presented in this fifth edition of the Forum an updated guide of 135 local, regional, national, and European resources and services to consider when starting a business from Seville.
It includes both those that are permanent for 12 months and those that are recurring with annual, semi-annual, quarterly, or monthly cadence, whether promoted by public or private entities: 32 incubation and acceleration programs, 17 training services, 16 advisory/mentoring services, 20 coworking-type spaces to work in; 34 events that energize economic activity and talent; 16 lines of grants, financing and promotion.
More outreach to grow the community
To Álvaro Pimentel Siles, Deputy Mayor and Economic Delegate of the City of Seville, “the positive balance of this Forum motivates us to continue expanding, from the government team of José Luis Sanz, the dissemination of the entrepreneurship support services available through the municipal Seville Entrepreneurial Initiative so that the community grows, connecting the experience of senior professionals with the drive of younger ones, ensuring that no one feels alone in the challenges involved in starting a business.”
In this sense, Pimentel has emphasized the need for technological adaptation: “We need all companies in Seville, regardless of size, to properly integrate Artificial Intelligence to increase their capabilities, remove barriers and turn their talent into economic profitability.”
“With this meeting, Seville not only strengthens its network of professional support, but also positions itself as a capital of opportunities where technological innovation translates into job creation and stability for Seville residents,” has underscored the delegate.
