Epson Launches the New CW-D3800e Color Label Printer

May 27, 2026

Epson has launched the ColorWorks D3800e, a new on-demand color label printer for desktop use, designed to make high-quality color labeling more accessible to a broader range of businesses and industries.

Available from June, the CW-D3800e provides a cost-effective and easy-to-use solution for companies that need professional color labels without specialized systems or large production runs. The CW-D3800 is designed for small businesses, e-commerce operations, retailers, pharmacies and parapharmacies or herbal shops, and positions itself as an entry-level solution within Epson’s ColorWorks lineup.

Thanks to the printer’s dye-based inks, it delivers vibrant colors with deep blacks, especially on glossy media, making it ideal for on-demand labeling of short product runs and promotional items, as well as labeling pharmaceutical and healthcare products, pricing and shelf or warehouse information, and customized container and gift labeling.

On-demand labeling with ColorWorks enables companies to eliminate pre-printed labels, reducing waste while enhancing flexibility and responsiveness. Designed for simplicity, flexibility and easy integration, the CW-D3800e has been developed with a strong focus on ease of use, allowing businesses to produce attractive, high-quality labels without specialized knowledge.

“As retailers and small businesses increasingly seek ways to add visual impact and customization to their operations without making them overly complex, this is where the CW-D3800e shines,” says Jacob Kallergis, Epson Europe’s product lead. “With the CW-D3800e, we lower the barrier to entry for color on-demand labeling. By combining vibrant ink-based printing with a simple and accessible design, we empower businesses to produce professional-quality labels in-store or on-demand, whether for packaging, promotions or customer-facing applications, while keeping costs low and reducing operational effort.”

Main advantages:

  • Easy setup and operation, with all functions accessible from the printer’s front panel.
  • Automatic print quality optimization, including automatic printhead maintenance.
  • Compact size, aligned with the proven ColorWorks C4000 design, ideal for space-constrained environments.
  • Simple maintenance tools, including setup, monitoring and remote management.

The printer is designed to integrate easily into existing workflows across commercial, logistics and healthcare sectors, delivering native compatibility with leading labeling software such as BarTender, Loftware Cloud and Teklynx Codesoft; as well as an SDK for iOS, Android, and web applications and compatibility with SAP environments, ESC/Label and ZPLII emulation.
