Faba Opens Its First Office in Spain in Barcelona

May 15, 2026

Italian edtech Faba has opened its first office in Spain, located in Barcelona, strengthening its local presence and its growth strategy in Southern Europe.

The company develops educational entertainment solutions for children, betting on a screen-free model. Its two flagship products, FABA Cuentacuentos and FABA+, are audio playback devices designed to accompany learning through play, stimulating imagination and language development. Faba offers a catalog of more than 200 audio content titles in Spanish, Catalan, Italian, English and French.

The company closed 2025 with a global revenue of €13.2 million, representing a 37% year-over-year growth. In the Spanish market, Faba reached a revenue of €1.5 million, up 58% compared to 2024, driven by the sale of 18,000 devices and more than 100,000 audio contents.

Looking ahead to 2026, the company expects to reach a global revenue of €16 million and exceed €2.5 million in Spain, consolidating its position in a growing market linked to educational entertainment and family consumption with offerings that keep children away from early screen exposure.

Company Growth

Faba’s growth is set against a backdrop of a global expansion in the sector. According to Fortune Business Insights, the global market for educational toys reached a value of $71.3 billion in 2025 and is forecast to surpass $148 billion by 2034, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 8.5%. This trajectory is driven by rising demand for solutions that support cognitive and emotional development in early childhood, as well as families’ interest in learning options beyond screens.

In Spain, the toy sector sits at around €1.2 billion in market value, with industrial revenue close to €1.7 billion, according to the Spanish Association of Toy Manufacturers (AEFJ). In this context of market stability and changing consumption, the sector is moving toward higher value-added proposals, driven by the search for solutions with a larger educational component.

In line with this trend, Matteo Fabbrini, CEO of Faba, notes: “Faba positions itself in a growing segment of the global educational toy market, with a proposition that promotes active listening, stimulates imagination and reinforces language development in childhood. It offers families valuable alternatives in an increasingly digitalized environment, especially against early screen exposure.”

The opening of the Barcelona office, in the Les Corts district, responds to Faba’s aim to strengthen its local presence, accelerate business development, and deepen relationships with distributors and partners in the Spanish market. The company currently has a footprint in 395 points of sale in Spain — 258 specialized stores and 137 retail outlets in major chains — in addition to its online channel.

In the international arena, Faba continues advancing its expansion plan. In addition to Spain, it currently operates in Italy, France and Belgium. It also has a presence in several markets in Latin America such as Chile, Guatemala and Uruguay.

Globally, the company employs more than 40 people. Some of them are based in Spain to continue strengthening its structure as it grows in Europe.
