Getac has launched its new tablet G140 Copilot + PC1 + fully rugged. Powered by AMD Ryzen technology, the G140 is designed for professionals across a range of industries who require versatile, field-ready devices capable of running demanding AI applications at the tactical edge across a wide variety of operating environments.
Real-time AI-powered performance
This device is designed to maximize on-site productivity. Equipped with a AMD Ryzen AI 5 340 / 7 350 CPU, AMD Radeon 840M / 860M GPUs, and an AMD XDNA 2 NPU (up to 50 TOPS), it delivers fluid AI-powered processing and high-quality visuals right at the point of use. This advanced AMD architecture is optimized for efficiency, providing exceptional battery life to support long work shifts without compromising power.
Getac’s G140 also excels at multitasking, handling demanding applications with swift responsiveness. Furthermore, its integrated graphics capabilities allow professionals to visualize high-resolution maps and complex schematics with excellent clarity, eliminating the need for a standalone GPU. Its broad connectivity options—including Wi‑Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, optional 4G LTE, optional 5G Sub‑6, and optional dual SIM—keep users connected even in remote locations, while its two built-in USB 4 ports support high-speed data transfer, high-resolution video output, and power delivery.
Field-ready design optimized for the job
At the heart of the G140 lies a 14-inch LumiBond display with 1,000 nits of brightness and sunlight-readable technology, delivering exceptional usability outdoors in changing weather. The user experience is enhanced by Getac’s Smart Touch auto-detection technology, which adapts the screen to input by finger, stylus, or gloves without needing to switch modes manually. Additionally, a new dual-speaker design makes it ideal for noisy environments, indoors or outdoors.
The G140 also features hot-swappable batteries and can house high-capacity batteries (optional) for extended periods of uninterrupted use. A robust security suite including TPM 2.0, Windows Hello facial authentication camera, AMD PRO (optional), HF RFID reader (optional), fingerprint reader (optional), and smart card reader (optional) keeps sensitive data protected at all times.
To enhance mobility, it offers a wide range of transport and mounting options, such as a rigid handle, rotating hand strap, magnetic dock, and support foot; the last three thanks to an integrated VESA mount in the chassis. Vehicle docks from Havis and Gamber-Johnson also enable safe charging and operation inside the vehicle.
Total rugged protection in a portable, lightweight form
As with all Getac devices, the G140 is built to operate where others fail. MIL-STD-810H and IP66 certifications, 1.2-meter drop resistance, and an operating temperature range of -29 °C to 63 °C ensure high reliability in challenging work environments, helping minimize unplanned downtime and reduce operating costs.
Despite its full rugged credentials, the G140 is remarkably light. At only 3.93 pounds (1.79 kg), it’s easy to carry and handle for extended periods.
The specifications of the G140 and its lightweight design make it ideal for several critical use cases:
- Public safety: police officers and firefighters can detach the G140 from their response vehicles on arrival at the incident site to collect evidence, gain situational awareness, and share critical information directly from the field.
- Automotive: mechanics and technicians can leverage its processing power to run diagnostics, manage tasks, and troubleshoot emergencies on the road or at service centers.
- Manufacturing: operators can capture and share asset data throughout the plant, enabling predictive maintenance and reducing unplanned downtime.
- Utilities: engineers can perform on-site meter readings and safety checks. Its AI-powered GIS mapping capabilities enable analysis of thousands of high-resolution infrastructure images for faster fault detection in electrical, gas, or water networks.
- Transportation and logistics: it enables vehicle tracking, delivery scheduling, and real-time cargo status monitoring. 5G connectivity and AI analytics help anticipate delays and keep supply chains moving.
“As organizations harness AI power in their operations, demand for rugged devices capable of running demanding AI applications at the edge is growing at an exponential rate,” says James Hwang, President of Getac Technology Corporation. “With the launch of the G140, we are redefining what is possible in the field, placing real-time analytical power directly in the hands of field professionals to complete their mission-critical work with no compromises, no matter how harsh the conditions.”
