SECOT and ATA Sign a Collaboration Agreement

May 7, 2026

Seniors Españoles para la Cooperación Técnica (SECOT) and the National Federation of Self-Employed Associations (ATA) have signed a collaboration agreement to drive entrepreneurship and strengthen self-employment in Spain.

The agreement, signed by SECOT president Fernando Sobrini Aburto and ATA president Lorenzo Amor Acedo, establishes a strategic framework focused on supporting self-employed individuals, entrepreneurs, and small and medium-sized enterprises through mentoring, business advisory services, and specialized training.

This alliance combines SECOT’s senior professionals’ experience with ATA’s advocacy, representation, and promotion of the self-employed sector, creating key synergies to boost the competitiveness of Spain’s business fabric.

The Senior’s Experience

In this way, SECOT reinforces its mission to transfer knowledge and experience to society, actively contributing to economic development, job creation, and social cohesion. Through its network of volunteer senior professionals it offers strategic guidance to those seeking to start or consolidate their business activities.

In the words of Fernando Sobrini: “this agreement strengthens our commitment to entrepreneurship and expands the reach of the guidance we provide, putting the experience of senior talent at the service of self-employed professionals and entrepreneurs.”

For its part, the ATA president noted: “self-employed workers constitute an essential part of Spain’s social fabric. Many small communities suffer from a lack of the generational succession needed to keep their businesses alive. Transmitting wisdom and experience, helping ensure the continuity of many sound enterprises, and advising from the perspective of someone who has faced numerous circumstances is fundamental. We rely on SECOT and its high-value advisory services.

The agreement, with an initial duration of one year, establishes a framework of collaboration based on coordination, transparency, and the development of joint initiatives aimed at promoting entrepreneurship and strengthening self-employment.
