Since 1997 Christoph Mohn, born in 1965 in Stuttgart, is Chief Executive Officer at LYCOS Europe N.V.

 

Mohn has studied Business Administrations focussed on Marketing at the Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität in Münster. Starting point of his professional career was his employment at Bertelsmann Music Group (BMG) in 1992. He continued his assignments at BMG in different positions in New York for a period of 2 years.

In 1994, the next steps of his career directed him back to Germany, where he faced new challenges in the field of electronics and telecommunication at McKinsey & Company.

 

Two years later, Christoph Mohn became appointed Vice President of Bertelsmann subsidiary Telemedia, being responsible for the area business development. There, one of his first measures was initiating a cooperation with the American Internet company LYCOS Inc. In 1997, this joint venture culminated in the formation of LYCOS Europe with Christoph Mohn being appointed Chief Executive Officer of the newly formed company.
